Word Mix and Word Mix Lite problems

There has been a bug plaguing Word Mix and Word Mix Lite users. The bug involves force closes when a new level starts. This has been a very difficult bug to track down, but I have finally found the cause of it. The cause is a corrupted game dictionary. There are checks in place for this when a level starts, but alas, those checks appear to be not catching all instances of corruption. To work around this, the quickest thing you can do is go into the game settings (from the main menu press “Menu”->”Settings”) and update your dictionary. I’m working on a fix for this and hopefully will get it released as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused any of you! I’ll post when the update is released.
Word Mix updated with Open Feint support!

This new release of Word Mix (and Lite) introduces OpenFeint to handle the high scores as well as newly added achievements. Signing up for an Open Feint account is free, easy and can be done inside of Word Mix. For those of you who have super high scores in the exiting leader board, it will be maintained until the next major release of Word Mix (a month or two) at which point it will be read only and then retired completely. So, if you want to continue to have your score tracked, please start an account with OpenFeint. Oh, did I mention that your existing high score can be uploaded in the leader board screen?
Also included in this update is a new theme for the app. For some reason I keep doing bluish themes. If anyone has any ideas for other colors, I’m open! Other updates include some bug fixes.

Word Mix and mysterious sticking buttons

*UPDATE* I have found the cause of this bug. If you have some letters in the guess row, then rotate the screen, it will allow the circles in the letter row to be clickable. If you click on one of these circles it will put a blank bubble in the guess row that will never go away. This can also cause letters to stick in the guess row. I will push out an update to fix this over the weekend. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you for your patience! There have been multiple reports of buttons mysteriously sticking in the “guess” row. This is being investigated. If you are experiencing this, please contact Greenrift Software (greenrift@gmail.com) and report the device you are using, the position in the guess row the letter is getting stuck, the letters that are in the current game, and if you started a new game or resumed a game.

>Word Mix Dictionary Update

After the server changes, there was an update to the dictionaries that caused a problem for some levels. Some of the levels are generating long words that appear to be two shorter words joined together. This is a result of there being an error in the dictionary. This has been fixed for both the common words and ospd dictionaries. Please do the following to update your dictionaries (if not prompted by the game to do so):
From the main Word Mix screen, press your devices Menu button. Tap “Settings”. Tap “Dictionaries”. If “common” is currently selected, choose “ospd”. If “ospd” is selected, choose “common”. Press your devices “back” button until you get back to the main Word Mix screen. At this point, you should see a message stating that it is loading the dictionary you chose (If not, try the above steps again). Please try to keep your device active while the dictionary is loading to ensure it gets loaded completely. Also, you will need a connection to the internet while it is doing this.

Word Frenzy and Word Frenzy Free have been updated to version 1.0.3.
Fixes:
1.) Force close during high score updating.
2.) When letters have been pressed, if you press on the blank ring below the guessed letters, an empty green circle appears in the guessed letter area. If this is done enough times the game force closes.
Both issues have been fixed with this update. Please upgrade your apps!

>UPDATE: Looks like everything is back to normal. Sorry for the interruption or problems you all may have had.
All:
If you are experiencing issues with dictionary downloads or the leader board screen, please be patient. These items are hosted on a web server and the hosting company is having problems today. If you are doing a fresh install of Word Mix (Lite), the game should detect the server being down and automatically default to loading the “built in” dictionary that comes with the game. Again, I am sorry for these issues, but they are out of my control for the time being. Please be patient and I’ll post something when I see that things are back up and running properly.

>Version 1.4 of Word Mix & Word Mix Lite has been released.
Updates include:
1) Two new dictionaries. A common words dictionary (loaded by default) and an advanced dictionary. See the application settings to change dictionaries.
2) With the added dictionaries there are now over 12000 levels of play!
3) A leader board is now available. See “High Scores” from the main menu. The leader board only keeps track of “Timed” games. “Puzzle” games are not tracked.
Unfortunately there were a few bugs introduced with this update. When you tap “End” on a puzzle game and select “End Level”, the next level sometimes presents a “Game Over” when you come back to your game. Also there are some layout issues with the leader board. These issues will be addressed as soon as possible.

It has been reported that there is a bug with Word Mix, such that when you are playing a level and press the Home button on your phone, when you go back to the game the timer doesn’t always start back up. A fix for this will be pushed out in the next few days. As a work around, when you go back to the game and you notice that the timer doesn’t start, press “End” and press “Yes” to end the game. Then at the main menu, press “Resume Game”. This will start the level where you had left off. Again, a fix for this is in the works and will be pushed out in the next couple of days. Sorry for any inconveniences.
